How we work

Six steps, from your request to the port

Every step carries a defined responsibility and a clear output that reaches you. No stage passes without you knowing what happened in it and what comes next.

1

We take the request

The item, the specification, the quantity and a rough budget. The clearer the request, the sharper the shortlist.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Your item list, approximate quantities, any images or specifications you hold, and the target market.

WHAT YOU RECEIVE

Acknowledgement within 24 hours, with any questions we need answered before starting.

2

We shortlist three factories

We rule out what will not clear the destination market before showing it to you — no time spent on options that will not pass the port.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Nothing. This stage is entirely on us.

WHAT YOU RECEIVE

Three shortlisted factories, with the reason each one is on the list and what sets it apart.

3

We visit and photograph

An actual site visit to the production line — not a phone call, not catalogue images. You see the product before you pay anything.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Your notes on the shortlist and which factory you want us to visit first.

WHAT YOU RECEIVE

Photos and video from inside the factory, plus our notes on capacity and build quality.

4

We send the offer and samples

A price fixed in writing by the factory, with a sample where one is needed. No verbal prices and no estimates.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Approval of the final specification, and any sample you want to see before committing.

WHAT YOU RECEIVE

A written offer from the factory, the lead time, payment terms, and the sample if requested.

5

We inspect before shipping

Inspection of the actual goods packed for you before loading, and a photographic report in your hands before the container leaves.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Nothing — beyond reviewing the report before we release the load.

WHAT YOU RECEIVE

A photographic inspection report, the count against the packing list, and confirmation the packing is sound.

6

We follow it to the port

Documents, booking, shipping and daily follow-up until the container reaches the destination port.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

The shipping details and consignee, and your customs broker if you have one.

WHAT YOU RECEIVE

Complete documents, the container number, and regular updates until arrival.

Timeline

What we commit to, and what depends on the item

We would rather not quote figures we cannot guarantee. Stages that depend on us alone have a fixed duration; stages that depend on the factory or the shipping line are fixed per order once confirmed at source.

Common questions

Questions we get before a first order

How long does it take from request to the container arriving?

It varies a great deal with the item, the quantity and the production season, which is why we do not give a fixed figure. What we commit to is a shortlist within 72 hours of receiving the request, then a realistic schedule fixed for each stage once the factory is chosen — and we hold to it or tell you immediately if it slips.

What is the minimum order?

It differs by factory and by item. The approach we most often use is consolidating items from several factories into one container, so you can try an item in a small quantity without committing to a full container for each one.

How is your fee calculated?

A commission agreed in writing before work starts. We add nothing to the factory price, and the factory price you see in the offer is its actual price.

Do you handle shipping and customs clearance?

We handle documents, booking, shipping and daily follow-up to the destination port. Customs clearance at destination goes through your broker, and if you do not have one we can point you to brokers we know.

Can I visit the factory myself?

Certainly, and we will arrange the visit and accompany you. Many of our clients visit once at the start and then rely on our inspection afterwards.

What if the goods arrive off-specification?

The main safeguard is that this is caught before shipping rather than after: we fix the specification in writing in the purchase order, inspect the goods actually packed for you before loading, and do not release the load until you have reviewed the photographic report. If something still surfaces, we pursue it with the factory on your behalf.

Which currency do you work in?

Whatever the factory works in — dollars, euros or Turkish lira — and the currency and its rate are fixed in the offer so the arithmetic does not change later.
