CLAY

Finishes & hardware

The pieces that set how a space feels: lighting, doors, handles and tiling. They are usually the last things ordered on a project and the first to run late, and they are also the items that fail over small technical details — a different voltage, a door hung the wrong way, or a second tile batch one shade lighter than the first.

What this area covers

The items we supply in this area

The list below shows what we handle regularly; it is not exhaustive. If the item you are after is not listed, send it to us and we will go and find its factory on the ground.

LIGHTING

Decorative lighting

Chandeliers, pendants, linear fittings and spots. We fix the voltage, the lamp base and the colour temperature before pricing, and ask for a sample to be powered up before the quantity is approved. A fitting with the wrong voltage or base is not a defect to be repaired — it is a shipment that cannot be used.

DOORS

Doors and entrance units

Internal doors, security doors and glazed doors. A door is built to the opening rather than to a stock size, so we need the clear opening, the wall thickness and the swing direction before manufacture — and the swing in particular cannot be reversed afterwards on most types.

HARDWARE

Metal hardware

Handles, hinges, locks and drawer runners. Small in price and large in how a space feels day to day, and ordered in volume — so a fraction of a lira becomes a real difference, and finish consistency between batches becomes worth fixing in writing.

TILES

Ceramic and porcelain tiling

Porcelain and ceramic in a range of formats for walls and floors. We order the full quantity from a single production batch, because a batch difference reads as a clear colour line across a floor, and we ask for the slip resistance rating to be stated in the offer for wet areas and public spaces.

The points we do not leave to the factory's judgement

These are the source of most problems in this category. We fix them in the purchase order before production starts, so they become a reference in any dispute rather than a matter of what was said on the phone.

PointWhy it matters
Voltage and lamp baseA fitting on the wrong voltage is an unusable shipment, not a repairable defect
Door swing directionCannot be reversed after manufacture on most types
Wall thickness and clear openingThe frame is built to both; get them wrong and the door will not fit
Single production batch for tilingA batch difference reads as a clear colour line across the floor
Slip resistance ratingRequired for wet areas and public spaces
